Windsor's Bluesfest is back for 2016

Bluesfest Windsor is back at Riverfront Festival Plaza this weekend, and things have already started rocking down by the Detroit River.

Jeff Martin of the Tea Party performed Thursday night, as the festival got underway.

Organizers say this year's $500,000 budget gave them room to make things bigger and better.

Those new attractions include video walls, TVs around the venue, more performers and a live stream available online.

"This event puts Windsor on the map," said Robert Petroni, the president of BluesfestWindsor. "Believe it or not, out of all the stages in North America, this is one of the ones [performers] really like to come to. We have a beautiful facility, a beautiful backdrop and the stage is awesome."
