Jim Prentice says his party will continue to push ahead with infrastructure projects despite the economic downturn.

The Progressive Conservative leadersays it would be a mistake to fall behind on new investments in schools, health-care facilities and roads.

"Our plan will continue to build our province and sustain good jobs in a slower economy," he said in a release.

Prentice says it can be tempting to put off important infrastructure investments in tough economic times.

"When we did that, we fell behind, services suffered and the growing needs of our province went unmet. My team and I have crafted a plan that keeps Albertans working, and keeps up with their needs," he said.

Albertans will be able to track projects through a system of online reporting, Prentice says.
