Another Jackson silkscreen by Warhol up for grabs

Another one of Andy Warhol's bright silkscreens of Michael Jackson is being put up for auction and is expected to fetch as much as $700,000 US.

Yet another Andy Warhol work of Michael Jackson will be put on block at an auction in November.

Christie's says the vividly-coloured silkscreen estimated to fetch up to $700,000 US will be auctioned off on Nov. 10 in New York City.

The pop artist, who died in 1987, created several such images of the King of Pop in 1984 to celebrate the global popularity of Jackson's Thriller album.

It is similar to one that was sold for a reported $1 million US back in August to a private buyer.

The work depicts Jackson with bright squiggles in his wavy hair.

Brett Gorvy of Christie's says the seller is an anonymous private collector in New York who had purchased it in the 1990s from the Andy Warhol Foundation.

Works connected to Jackson are expected to garner a high price since the 50-year-old singer's death in June from a fatal combination of drugs.
