Kurylenko, 28, who hails from Ukraine, will appear in the 22nd film in the spy series as Camille, a sidekick to Daniel Craig's James Bond, Columbia Pictures said Monday.

Kurylenko was most recently seen opposite Timothy Olyphant in the video game-inspired movie Hitman. Her other credits include TV performances and appearing in a segment of the 20-film compilation project Paris, je t'aime.

The latest Bondfilm, which isnow in production,remains as yet untitled, despite being scheduled to hit theatres Nov. 7.

The plot, which Canadian Paul Haggis helped shape with director Marc Forster, is believed to follow from the conclusion of 2006's Casino Royale, Craig's first foray as the famed British spy from Ian Fleming's books.

Acclaimed actress Judi Dench is among the returning characters, set to reprise her role as intelligence chief M, whileFrench actor Mathieu Amalric, currently winning acclaim in the film The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, will portray a major villain.

British newcomer Gemma Arterton had already been named as one of the so-called Bond girls set for the upcoming film. The 21-year-old actress has been slated to play a MI6 agent named Fields.
