Drake proclaimed that this summer would be his season to shine andnow it's official.

The Toronto-born rapper's massive hit One Dance, featuring WizKid and Kyla, has been crowned "song of the summer" by both Billboard andSpotify.

The music streaming company says Drake's track was played 757 million times on Spotify over the summer, far outpacing other big tracks of the season.

Billboard says One Dancealso managed to stay atop the Songs of the Summer chart for its entire 14-week span. The Songs of the Summer chart ranks the biggest hits based on cumulative performance on the weekly Billboard Hot 100 chart from the U.S. Memorial Day holiday on May 30 through to Labour Day.

One Danceis only the third song this decade to dominate Billboard's summer chart throughout the entire season.

Previously, Iggy Azalea's Fancy, featuring Charli XCX, managed the feat in 2014. Katy Perry's California Gurls, featuring Snoop Dogg, also did it in 2010.

Unfortunately, the news comes at the same time the HotlineBlingrapper had a reported $3 million US in jewelry stolen from his tour bus in Phoenix, Ariz. Tuesday night. Reports suggest the items belonged to his DJ, Future the Prince.
