Award-winning rapper Drake has responded musically in an ongoing feud with Meek Mill, just as the Philadelphia rapper was greeted with loud boos in the Canadian performer's hometown.

Over the past few days, Drake has premiered several new songs online via the audio-sharing site Soundcloud, including a pair of so-called "diss" tracks: the low-key Charged Up and harder-edged Back to Back Freestyle.

In Charged Up, the Toronto-born, Grammy- and Juno-winning rapper slyly references the simmering feud by noting he was "done doing favours for people, 'cuz it ain't like I need the money for doing features."

In the othertune, Drake raps: "This is for y'all that think I don't write enough. They just mad 'cuz I got the Midas touch."

He continues with a more pointed dig at Mill, on tour as one of the opening acts for his romantic partner, Nicki Minaj.

"You love her then you gotta give the world to her. Is that a world tour or your girl's tour? I know that you gotta be a thug for her. This ain't what she meant when she told you to open up more."

Last week, Mill launched a Twitter rant alleging that Drake used a ghostwriter, specifically referencing his song R.I.C.O. that features a verse from Drake.

The American performer reiterated his sentiment to audiences during a subsequent concert appearance and became embroiled in a social media feud with a Toronto City councillor over his comments.

Drake unveiled Back to Back Freestyle online posted cheekily with a photo of former Toronto Blue Jay Joe Carter's 1993 World Series-winning home run against the Philadelphia Phillies just as Mill and Minaj stopped in Toronto.

Audience videos posted online Tuesday night show Mill being loudly booed when he turned up late for his set, after reportedlybeing detained at the border.
