Drake takes out billboard to congratulate Rihanna's work, work, work

Drake has sent a very public message to Rihanna on a billboard in Los Angeles.

The Toronto rapper gave props to the Barbadian singer and frequent collaborator for the upcomingMTV Video Music Awards, where RiRiis receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

"Congratulations to Rihanna from Drake and Everyone at Ovo," the billboard,referring to the rapper's Canadian label, October's Very Own, readsintraditional cursive font.

Rihanna, who isalso opening Sunday'sawards show,responded by posting a photo on Instagram, with the caption "When he extra!!!", including heart and trophy emojis.

While Toronto is no stranger to Drake using billboards around the city to promote his own albums,this one isfuellingrumours once again about the on-again off-again couple, who have worked together on several songs including Work, Take Care and What's My Name?.

Of course, it's also an indirectpat on the back, sinceWork is also nominated for multiple VMAs, along withDrake'sHotline Bling.
