At the 1988 Calgary Games, sometime plasterer-and-ski jumper Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwardsbecame theunderdog hero of the Olympics.

AsBritain'sfirst Olympicski jumper, the affable young Edwardsself-funded, near-sighted and, ultimately, last-placed leapedinto the hearts of millions of fans worldwide with his unabashed perseverance and love of the sport.

A new film inspired by his story had its world premiere at the 2016Sundance Film Festival in January, ahead of hitting theatres later this month.
