Decision Points, the forthcoming book penned by former U.S. president George W. Bush, will be released in November, its publisher revealed on Sunday evening.

Crown Publishers has set Nov. 9 as the release date for the book previously described as not a traditional memoir but rather an account of important decisions Bush made over his lifetime.

"Since leaving the Oval Office, President Bush has given virtually no interviews or public speeches about his presidency," Crown said in a statement.

"Instead, he has spent almost every day writing Decision Points, a strikingly personal and candid account revealing how and why he made the defining decisions in his consequential presidency and personal life."

As announced in 2009, the book will include Bush revealing details about the 2000 presidential election, his reaction to the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks as well as stories about his relationships with his family members.

According to Sunday's statement, Decision Points also includes Bush writing "honestly and directly about his flaws and mistakes" and about the fight against terrorism and his efforts to provide treatment for Africans suffering from HIV/AIDS and from malaria.

Crown also released on Sunday the book's cover design, which features a shot of the then-president standing in the Rose Garden Colonnade.

Bush's wife Laura completed her memoir titled Spoken from the Heart, which will be released on May 4.

Former U.S. vice-president Dick Cheney, who served with Bush, is also set to publish a memoir in spring 2011. Former U.S. secretary of state Condoleezza Rice has a three-book deal with Crown, to begin with a memoir about her years in the Bush administration, in 2011.
