Jackson's burial yet to be confirmed

Officials have yet to announce whether the body of the late pop star Michael Jackson has been laid to rest.

Neither Jackson's family nor officials at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park cemetery in Los Angeles have confirmed the location of the body.

The coroner's office announced Monday that Jackson's autopsy results were in and there were reports thatthe portion of the pop star's brain that had been taken for testing had been returned by investigators.

On Jackson's death certificate, the star's body is temporarily listed as being at Forest Lawn, but the certificate has yet to be revised with the Los Angeles County to show his final resting place.

Jackson's body was held at Forest Lawn before his public memorial at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The body had since been taken to the coroner's office for further investigation.

The singer's cause of death has yet to be announcedm although the coroner says the toxicology results have been returned. Those results have yet to be announced.

Forest Lawn spokesman Bill Martin declined to say whether Jackson's body will be laid to rest at the cemetery, or if it is still there.

Jackson's older brother, Jermaine, has spoken out about his wishes to have his sibling buried atthe late King of Pop'sNeverland estate. In an interview with CNN's Larry King, Jermaine Jackson told the talk show host that it would be up to his mother Katherine to decide where his brother will be buried.

Meanwhile, a star-studded tribute to the music icon is said to be in the works.

The event, which is to take place in a 17th-century palace in Vienna, will be televised live around the world, the event promoter said Tuesday.

"It will be a very special evening for the millions of fans around the globe," said Georg Kindel of World Awards Media GmbH.

Kindel said the show will also feature Jackson's family and unidentified Hollywood stars discussing their memories of the music legend. Images and video clips of Jackson will also be screened.

There has been no word yet as to which artists will participate, but Madonna, U2, Lionel Richie and Whitney Houston are among those hinted to perform.

The event is scheduled to take place sometime in late September, with organizers to announce the date and lineup soon.

Tickets go on sale Aug. 20.
