Jennifer Lawrence caused a commotion Wednesday night during a comically chaotic appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman.

TheOscar-winning actresswas supposed to be promotingher upcoming movie, Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, but instead,Lawrenceand Letterman launched into a rowdy tangent about bowling, retirement and Christmas carolsa conversation that inspired the 24-year-old to belt out an especially guttural version of A Holly Jolly Christmas.

"I have a voice like a tone deaf Amy Winehouse," Lawrence joked.

The interview became so disorganized that, at one point, both Lawrence and Letterman turned to the show's producers for direction.When that didn't help, the pair waved goodbyeto the audience andwalked out.

When the programreturned from commercial, theHunger Gamesstar was sitting comfortablybehind Letterman's desk where she finally remembered to throw to a Mockingjayclip (but becameconfused about which Hunger Games instalment she was talking about.)

Lawrence's lively and unscripted Letterman visit is one ofher firstmajor TV appearances since the actress was the victim of a nude photo hack in the summerthat saw intimate pictures of the star leaked online.

After weeks of silence,Lawrence finally confronted the incident inVanity Fair in early October.

"I was just so afraid. I didnt know how this would affect my career," saidLawrence, who also called forchanges to thelegal system to stop hackers from violating other women online.

Hunger Games:MockingjayPart 1goes into wide release Nov. 21.
