Kesha, Lorde, Sam Smith among surprise guests on Coachella stage

If the star-studded lineup at the Coachella desertmusic festival in Indio, Calif., wasn't enough, a host of extra guests showed up on stage Saturday for surprise appearances.

Pop starKesha, who has beenembroiled in a public legal battle over her music contract,joined EDM artistZedd on stage for the song True Colours. It marked theTik Tok singer's first performance in months before a large audience.

The British EDM group Disclosure introduced New Zealand's Lordefor the song Magnets and British pop artistSam Smith to sing some of the band's catchiest tunes, including Latch.

Canadian singer-songwriter Grimes played aside stage at the same time that Guns N' Roses were headlining the music festival on the main stage. R&B singerJanelle Monaejoined Grimes for a performance of Venus Fly.

Guns N' Roses members Axl Rose, Slash and Duffreunited Saturday and were accompanied for a few songs by AC/DC guitarist Angus Young, who performed AC/DC classicsWholeLottaRosieandRiffRaff.

It was widely expected thatIce Cube would reunite members of N.W.A. to perform at Coachellaand he didn't disappoint. The rapper, whose life and music group were the subject of the 2015 acclaimed film Straight Outta Compton, brought out MC Ren and DJ Yella.

Ice Cuberounded out his appearanceby bringing Oscar-winner Common and later, Snoop Dogg, on stage, to perform the rap hitThe Next Episode.
