Live chat with Tom Green a hit on internet TV

Comedian Tom Green is ramping up his presence on 24-hour internet TV network ManiaTV.com.

Comedian Tom Green is ramping up his presence on 24-hour internet TV network ManiaTV.com.

Green, knownfor his shock-style pranks, began broadcasting a live call-in show from his Hollywood Hills living room on June 15.

He originally agreed to an hour-long weekly episode of Tom Green Live on the Denver-based internet network, but the response was so good the first night that the show ran three hours.

Since that first show, Green has been calling ManiaTV asking to go live at odd hours, according to network spokesman Jason Damata.

"So he's, like, hijacking our network, which we're cool with," Damata said, according to Associated Press. "But we said, 'Do us a favour. Can we at least have some structure?'"

Green now has a deal with ManiaTV for four original shows a week and plans to repeat one of the shows on the fifth night.

The live show, which runs at 11 p.m. ET, is already popular and building an audience for the internet broadcaster, Damata said.

The show features Green and his pet parrot, plus an occasional guest, responding to live calls. It is simulcast at tomgreen.com.

Green, the former host of the MTV's The Tom Green Show, welcomed the chance to do uncensored "experimental" TV.

"I've always enjoyed doing goofy experimental stuff that sometimes was too weird to put on a TV show but was fun artistically," he said when he announced his initial deal with ManiaTV.

ManiaTV, which has been online since 2004, produces music videos, short films, and other content for an internet audience.
