Plans are underway to bring a collection of Group of Seven paintings to Canada once it completes a celebrated run in Europe.

Painting Canada: Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven is currently on view in Oslo, Norway after drawing crowds to the Dulwich Picture Gallery in London.

Now there's talk of bringing the showcase to Canada in the fall, where it would land at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg, Ont., north of Toronto.

Gallery director Victoria Dickenson says negotiations are underway with lenders and the National Gallery of Canada, which co-organized the touring exhibit.

Dickenson says details have yet to be finalized, but that the plan is to display the works from November to January.

After Norway, the pieces are headed to Groningen, in the Netherlands.
