He is the secondformer Beatles torelease ofhis post-Beatles hits online, after Paul McCartney.

McCartney's new album Memory Almost Full was released digitally earlier this month, and his back catalogue is now online.

Starr's 1970 album Beaucoups of Blues and his 1973 album Ringo are among the recordings to be released on Aug. 28, his publicist announced Sunday.

A compilation album, Photograph: The Very Best of Ringo Starr, with tracks such as It Don't Come Easy and Sentimental Journey, will be released on the internet, on CD and as a collector's edition CD/DVD at the same time.

Starr plans to release a new solo album, called Liverpool 8, in January 2008.

The Beatles catalogue remains unavailable for downloading, though EMI has said it is working on a deal to put the songs online.

EMI will also release the digital edition of Paul McCartney's back catalogue and the says the music will be available "soon."
