Seth Rogen: Vancouver's film industry helped him dream big

Childhood friends Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have worked together on some major Hollywood hits, from Knocked Up and Superbad to Pineapple Express and This Is the End.

Their shared hometown of Vancouver and its reputation as a movie-making hub is a key factor both filmmakers cite as an early boost to their show business careers.

For instance, movies and TV shows were regularly shot at the high school they attended, Point Grey Secondary School in Vancouver, so a filmmaking career never seemed like a far-fetched profession, Rogen said.

"It definitely seemed more attainable than if we just lived in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere, where no one ever filmed anything. The fact that it was around made it seem possible," he told CBC's Ian Hanomansing.
