Spears, Federline reach divorce settlement

Pop star Britney Spears and estranged husband Kevin Federline have reached a settlement in their divorce, according to a spokesman for Federline's attorney.

Michael Sands said Thursdaythe two have signed "a global settlement on all issues of their marriage," including child custody and financial matters.

Sands would not release terms of the settlement. Spears's attorney, Laura Wasser, declined to comment.

Celebrity website TMZ.com is reporting the couple will share joint custody of their two children, Jayden James, six months, and Sean Preston, 18 months.

They have had joint custody since separating last November. Federline has two children from an earlier relationship.

TMZ also reports that Federline, a former backup dancer for Spears who is attempting to launch a career as a rapper, will receive $1 million US from Spears.

Spears recently completed a month of treatment at the Promises Malibu Alcohol and Drug Rehab facility, after bizarre behaviour that included shaving her head.
