Tom Green to host talk show from living room

Canadian comedian Tom Green plans to take another shot at a late-night talk show, hosting a weekly broadcast live from his living room in the Hollywood Hills.

Canadian comedian Tom Green is taking another shot at a late-night talk show but this time it will be online.

ManiaTV.com will host a weekly call-in show broadcast live from Green's living room in the Hollywood Hills,Green announced on Sunday. Theshow will begin airing on June 15.

"It seemed like the ultimate playground for someone like me," said Green, who started out on public access TV in Ottawa and quickly developed areputation for shock-style pranks such assucking milk from a cow's udder and painting a pornographic scene on his parent's car.

"I've always enjoyed doing goofy experimental stuff that sometimes was too weird to put on a TV show but was fun artistically."

The program will launch three years after the axing of his late-night talk show on MTV, The New Tom Green Show.

Green, 34,said he plans to host the program from his old MTV desk set in front of his fireplace and joked that guests might include his landscaper and his cleaning lady.

"I doubt we'll get anybody good. It's in my living room. How rinky-dink is that?" he said.

Richard Ayoub, the vice-president of programming at ManiaTV, said Green has "complete and total creative control."

"We have no standards and practices," Ayoub said. "He is going to be completely uncensored. That's what we can give him that MTV never could."

Green's Rogers Television show in Ottawa had a dedicated following, which resulted in a contract with the Comedy Channel.

The Tom Green Show Uncensored became a staple of MTV in 2000. As his popularity reached new heights that year, Green was diagnosed with testicular cancer, which he beat.

In 2001, he married actress Drew Barrymore but the couple separated only six months after their nuptials. They divorced in 2002.

He returned to MTV with The New Tom Green Show in 2003 but it was cancelled after a few months on air.

Green recently finished directing an upcoming movie, Prankstar. His movie credits include Stealing Harvard, Freddy Got Fingered and Road Trip.
