Will Arnett to be honoured at Banff TV festival

Actor and comedian Will Arnett will be presented with the Canadian Award of Distinction at the Banff World Media Festival.

Actor and comedian Will Arnett will be presented with the Canadian Award of Distinction at the Banff World Media Festival.

The Toronto-born actoris being recognized for hisachievements in the entertainment industry.

Excited about joining the "eh-list" the Arrested Development actor tweeted:"Going to be receiving the Canadian Award of Distinction.@BanffMedia Proud Canadian over here."

Arnett currently stars in NBCs Up All Night, where he plays a supportive stay-at-home dad.

He was nominated for an Emmy in 2006 for his work on the critically acclaimed sitcom Arrested Development as Gob Bluth and again in 2012 for his performance on the show 30 Rock.

Past recipients of the Canadian Award of Distinction include Paul Haggis, Howie Mandel, Erick McCormack and Martin Short.

TheTV and media festival, which draws industry representatives from around the world,will be taking place from June 9-12 at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, Alta.
