Election Pollcast: The changing relationship between pollsters and the media

The relationship between pollsters and the media has changed dramatically over the years. To discuss it, Carleton professor and former journalist and pollster Paul Adams joins CBC poll analyst Eric Grenier in the latest episode of the Election Pollcast.

Each week, the CBC Election Pollcast, hosted by CBC poll analyst andThreeHundredEight.com founder ric Grenier explores the world of political polls, their influence on the media, and the trends they are showing.

Joining ric this week is Paul Adams, associate professor of journalism at Carleton University. Formerly of the CBC, The Globe and Mail and EKOS Research, he brings a unique perspective to the question of how the relationship between the media and pollsters has changed, having worked on both sides.

Are journalists properly equipped to report on polls? Has the relationship between pollsters and the media deteriorated? Or are we on the cusp of a new, better way in how the media handles polls?
