The Supreme Court of Canada has issued five rulings on copyright cases involving royalties on music downloaded and streamed over the internet and downloaded in video games, and on use of copyrighted educational material.

Thecourtruled against a royalty on the downloading of musicand video games containing music and on online previews of songs, but upheld a royalty on streaming of music over the internet. It alsoclarified use of copyrighted educational materials.
