Buzzy Cohen: Hero, villain, heartthrob, smart alec, viral sensation and reigning Jeopardy champion

Austin (Buzzy) Cohen is a 31-year-old indie record label exec from Los Angeles. Half the internet wants to marry him, half wants to punch him in the face, and as for Alex Trebek ... we're still not sure. (Jeopardy.com)

Step aside, Alex from Target, Ruby Rose, NASA MohawkGuy and everyone else the internet hascollectively swooned over since Twitter becamea thing.

Buzzy Cohen is the new Ryan Gosling of Jeopardy. Butwith nine winning games now under his belt, he's raking in thirsty fantweets almost as fast ashe'sraking in cash right now.

People also want to punch him in the face (or at leastenjoytweeting about punching him in the face.)

Whether or not Canadian Jeopardy host Alex Trebek is one of said punch-happypeople is not yet known but fans of the show are starting to wonder if the same goofy antics that have people crushing on Cohen are grindingTrebek's gears.

Some background:

Cohen, whose first name is actually Austin, is a 31-year-old indie record executive from Los Angeles.

He's accumulated a nine-day total of$164,603 US duringhis winning streak so far. He appears to likeSaturday Night Live's Celebrity Jeopardy sketches (particularly the ones in whichDarrell Hammond playedSean Connery), and he's pretty much the most divisive contestant the game show has ever seen.

"Depending on whom you ask, he's either the game show's latest young, charismatic savior," writes Vanity Fair of the reigning champ, "or an obnoxious millennial scourge we as a society did nothing to deserve."

"Those who love him see a goofy-cute Jewish guy you could happily bring home to mom," reports The Cut. "Those who hate him think he is a punchable tool."

The reasons offered by both campsincludeCohen's facial expressions, his giffable moves, his wicked smarts, his glassesand the fact that he's not shy about joking around with Trebek.

In fact, he's opted out of answering the Final Jeopardy question several times now in favour of betting zero dollars to trollTrebek with a quote from SNL.

He's charming. He's obnoxious. He'sadorable. He's infuriating. He might looklike a cartoon character.

BuzzyCohen isa lot of things to a lot of people, but he's not going to sext you back ladies. Sorry. He's already married.
