In what likely seemed like a good idea at the time, Donald Trump jumped on Twitter Monday morning to answer some questions live, only to be swarmed him with jokes and criticism.

The Republican U.S. presidential candidate visited Twitter's New York City office to be filmed answering questions on his policies and opinions under the hashtag #AskTrump.

Many of the questions were earnest, but the vast majority appearedto be either harsh critiques of things Trump has said in the past, or jokes at Trump's expense.

Trump responded to questions about thingslike whether he will forgo the presidential salary if elected and if he thoughtJoe Flacco was an elite NFL quarterback.

But he ignored pressing questions about his hair...

and his slogan.

One person asked about his political chances, given other affiliations.

Even minor celebrities, real and fictional, posed questions.

Trump's continued refusal to back down from his inflammatory comments on Mexicans and illegal immigrants was denounced by several users using the #AskTrump tag.

"They're sending people that have lots of problems and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists," Trump said back in June during his initial announcement that he would run for president.

Like other Republican candidates, he's also declared interest in building a wall between Mexico and the United States.

Yet, some still refuse to believe he's running.

But maybe thiswill all pass.
