KFC fires manager who fired transgender woman
KFC announced Tuesday the company had fired a store manager for discriminating against a transgender worker, andsocial media reaction indicatedthe move wasin good taste.
Georgia Carter, 27,was fired from a Richmond,Va.,Kentucky FriedChickenwhen themanagerfound out her driver's licence identified the worker as male.
KFC publicly announced the manager had been fired.

In a statement to Business Insider, KFC said the manager violated the franchiseepolicy, which is inclusive of gender identity and sexual orientation.
Cartertold ABC News that she was elated to get the job.
Shortly after, however,she received a call from the manager who said he had a problem with Carter's driver's licence,Carter told ABC.
Once she toldthe manager that she was transgender, she claimed he said, "Oh, we can't hire you because we don't know which bathroom you can use."
When KFC heard theallegation,an "immediate and thorough investigation" was conducted, according to Business Insider.
KFC's announcement receiveda lot of positive reaction on Twitter.
