In an apparent jab at the current crop of Republican candidates, Matt Damon hasvoiced sarcastic support forbuilding awall between Canada and the United Statesto help fight illegal immigration.

"I'm really glad that we're gonna be putting up this wall, you know, to separate these Canadians from coming in,"Damon, whois north of the border for the TorontoInternational FilmFestival (TIFF), told the Associated Press. "I think it's a really good allocation of our resources."

Republican presidentialcontender Scott Walker has spoken in favour of constructing a wall on the Canadian border, while Donald Trump has been an outspoken supporter of a wall between the United States and Mexico.
