Republicans take to Twitter to roast Democratic Party debate

Democratic presidential candidates took part last night in the party's first debate of the U.S. federal election campaign, while Republicans made their views known online.

Democratic presidential hopefuls squaredoff Tuesday night in Las Vegas for the U.S. election campaign's first candidates' debate, while Republican candidates also had plenty to say on Twitter.

Not every Republicantweeted their reactions to the proceedings, but those who did, did soprolifically.

It was like a visit to the playerhater's ball.

Trump spent much of the time picking on individualDemocrats.

Mike Huckabeemadesome of his more controversial views known.

And was eventually accused of racism.

TheRepublicancandidates took on some well-established nemeses, including:

Vladimir Putin.

And Hillary Clinton.

Clinton'semailstouched a nerve.

Some thought the Democrats weren't sticking to the real issues.

Even though there were a fewcompliments.

And some half-compliments.
