As wildfires rage across parts of B.C., the resulting smoke and ash have spread over several communities, prompting residents to share their jaw-dropping photos of the eerily dark skies.
As the sun approached the horizon Saturday evening, the smoke intermingled with the sunset to paint a rust-like veneer over what might have otherwise been a clear summer's night. Downtown Vancouver looked like it sat underneath a red sun.
Several new wildfires and a few old ones havecaused local authorities to issue evacuation orders and states of emergencyin several B.C. communities.
