The Soylent revolution has made it to Canada

The unfortunately namedbut popular powder-in-a-packet meal replacementSoylentis now shipping to Canada.

For those of us who prefer actual food, this announcement is notearth shattering.

That said, the company has built up quite acommitted and loyal Canadian fan basesince its Silicon Valley beginnings in 2013 and until now, Canada's Soylent-loving populationhad been feeling deprived.

This is the company's first foray into the international market, signaling a growing customer base of people who like their food in the form of a beige-coloured shake.

It's important to note, for those who aren't aware, that Soylent isnot made of humans likeits namesake from the 1973 movieSoylentGreen.

Rather, it is a concoction of carbohydrates, protein, fats and vitamins, including rice protein, oats, flour and soy. It also containsCanolaoil powder and a thickening agent.

According to post on Soylent's blog this week,the product can be shipped to all 10 provinces, includingNunavut, where sky high food prices leave many people hungry a fact that was not lost on some Twitter users.

However,Soylentis popular withthe health-minded and nutritionally conscious, and many of themin Canada were happy to hear the news.
