Austrian teen who fled abductor 'locked away again': mom

The mother of an Austrian teenager abducted as a child and held in a cellar for eight years has companied that her daughter has been "locked away again" by the authorities.

But police Maj.-Gen. Gerhard Lang told the Austrian Press Agency that Natascha Kampusch, 18, "is fully capable of making decisions for herself."

The teenager escaped her captor,Wolfgang Priklopil, on Wednesday, and has voluntarily spent the weekend at an undisclosed location, Lang said.

Priklopil killed himself after her escape.

Kampusch's mother, Brigitta Sirny, complained that "psychologists and doctors are all well and good, but a daughter also needs her mother,"in an interview published in theAustrian newspaper Kurier on Sunday. "Why can't I see my daughter?"

Ludwig Koch, the girl's father, also begged for accessto his daughter, but police declined. The parents are separated.

Kampusch had a short reunion with her parents, but police said she has notasked to see them again. She asked to be left alone for the weekend, but her father said she had written to him saying "we will have all the time in the world."

Lawyer Monica Pinterits visited the teenager on Saturday and Sunday. She said Kampusch was in a good mood and had met and talked with people her own age.

The BBC reported that Austrian criminal investigator Erich Zwettler said policedecided to stop questioning the woman until Monday, at the earliest. "She urgently needs a break," he said.

He also confirmed reports that Kampusch had told investigators thatshe had "sexual contact" with Priklopil.
