CBC's Adrienne Arsenault takes us on a tour of Fidel Castro's childhood home

The birthplace of revolutionary leader Fidel Castro in what is now Holguin province in eastern Cuba was once a farm, but since 2002 has been a museum.

Fidel Castro, whose death at age 90 was announced Friday, was born on the property nearthe village of Biranon Aug. 13, 1926. His brother Raul,who took Fidel's place as Cuba's president in 2008,was born on the estate in 1931.

Their parents Angel Castro and Lina Ruz had seven children together and married after Fidel, their third child, was born.

CBC's Adrienne Arsenault, whowas on assignment in Cuba in March 2015 and toured the homestead, filed this report.
