A young Fidel Castro speaks to the CBC

Fidel Castro's mountain hideaway was meant to keep his location a secret from Fulgencio Batista's forces, but Castro still wanted to spread the message of his revolution.

While Castro used his mountain camp in the late '50s, Canadian journalist Erik Durschmied was smuggled up the mountain to speak with the young rebel leader for the CBC.
