TheObamaadministration has released its plan to close the detention centre at Guantanamo Bay inCuba and transfer itsremaining detainees to a facility in the United States.

Obamavowed during his 2008 campaign to close the facility, and his current plan marks a last-ditch effort to do so.

But there are some challenges he will face. The administration is currently prohibited by law from moving Guantanamo detainees to the U.S., and some states have been opposed to the idea oftaking in the detainees.
