Two grieving Dutch fathers connected by an immense tragedy following the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 tell CBC News about loved ones they lost in the disaster.

"Without knowing what was going to happen, we said goodbye in a good way," Reggy Specken said of his 31-year-old son, Rein, who died in the flight along with his girlfriend, Desiree Zantkuijl.

Although the repatriation of many victims' bodies to Amsterdam provides some relief, Hans de Borst said reality is setting in as he comes to terms with the loss of his daughter Elsemiek.

"She was my everything," de Borst said of the 17-year-old, who was also among the 298 people toperishin the disaster.
