In addition to killing and injuring scores of people in and around the city of Tacloban, Typhoon Haiyan knocked down homes, damaged wells and fishing vessels in many difficult to reach communities in the Philippine archipelago.

As part of the international relief effort, Canadian helicopters and military personnel with the Disaster Assistance Response Team have been flying in aid supplies to some of the affected communities.
