Prince Charles does BBC weather forecast

Prince Charles delivers the weather forecast during a visit to BBC Scotland. He tells his surprised TV audience to expect 'a cold day everywhere.'

If being King doesn't keep him busy enough, Prince Charles may eventually be interested in a second job as a TV weatherman.

The heir to the thronetried his hand at delivering a weather forecast during a visit to BBC Scotland in Glasgow on Thursday. Speaking with a weather map in the background, he read aprepared script that highlighted the locations of several royal residences in Scotland.

But Charles didn't confine himself to reading the words that were written for him.When he spoke of "the potential for a few flurries over Balmoral", he ad-libbed: "Who the hell wrote this script?"

The prince told the lunchtime Scottish TV audience that "it was a cold day everywhere with temperatures of just 8 C and a brisk northerly wind. Thank God it isn't a bank holiday," he quipped.

Charles was accompanied by his wife Camilla, who also tried her hand at presenting the weather. The pair visited the studios to mark the 60th anniversary of BBC TV Scotland.
