Auction house art experts on what makes this season's top lots so desirable

What makes one beautiful artwork worth more than another? If its by an accomplished, well-known artist, that often makes a difference. Other key factors include rarity, when a work was created (say, during a significant time in the artists life) and whos owned it over the years. Sometimes, a great back story is what elevates an artwork into a must-have for collectors.
