Tim Hortons has apologized to a man who bought a cup of coffee containing shards of glass from one of their outlets in Peterborough, Ont.
Jason Horner says he bought the coffee for his friend on Sunday. The friend was spitting out little bits of glass throughout the day and got checked out at a hospital.
Horner says he discovered later that employees had broken a coffee pot shortly before his arrival.
Representatives from Tim Hortons say a report has been filed on the incident and steps will be taken to review what happened.
Horner received an apology from the company's head office on Tuesday.
