E-book lending

Amazon recently announced plans to allow lending between Kindle users, so that sharing e-books would become as simple as borrowing a paper book.
In a statement released last week, Amazon said books can be lent out for two weeks. Fans of the electronic reader are excited about the prospect, while others worry about the effect this may have on traditional libraries.
What do you think? Will e-book lending encourage you to purchase an electronic reader like Kindle?
