Players for the Saskatchewan Roughriders football team have a deal with the Regina health region that allows them to get diagnostic tests done within 48 hours of an injury.
Details of the agreement were discussed Tuesday after information came to light that two players -- Luca Congi and Rob Bagg -- would undergo MRI tests following injuries in a CFL game Sunday.
"We get those [tests] out of sequence and off-hours, and we pay a premium price in order to get that," Roughriders coach Ken Miller said. "So, we're not cutting into the front of lines and that sort of thing. It's just we have to find somebody who is willing to come in in their off-hours."
Officials with the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region confirmed the special arrangement with the Roughriders.
