Halloween: Creative costumes from the headlines

There are two types of Halloween celebrants: the ones that spend months coming up with the perfect costume and those who have gone as a sheet ghost so many times they have backup linen just for the occasion.

CBC News Your Voice wants to help you plan your ghoulish get-ups early this year with some costume ideas straight from the headlines.

Here are some pop culture alternatives to consider this Halloween:

Lady Gaga

While wearing raw meat as a garment may not be entirely hygienic, it will help convey the singer's over-the-top style. Other requirements for this costume include platinum locks, red lipstick and a poker face.

Jet Blue flight attendant

Quick reflexes, a blue slide and two cans of beer are all you need to execute this look. And of course, make sure all overhead baggage at the party is securely stored.

Chilean miner

The feel good story of the year is also a guaranteed Halloween hit. Suggested attire includes a pair of Oakleys, a hard hat and a yellow vest. Mistress optional.

Mark Zuckerberg

Portraying the social network guru shouldn't be too hard. Just wear a hooded sweatshirt and invade people's privacy all night.
