Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced changes to the site's profile pages on 60 Minutes Sunday (Adrian Wyld/ CANADIAN PRESS).
Facebook, known for its constant updates, is changing the layout and structure of its user profile pages yet again.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the new structure in an appearance on 60 Minutes on Sunday, BBC reports.
The changes will make greater use of photos on the profile page, allow users to display their "featured friends," and give a more comprehensive description of their workplaces and colleagues.
To activate the new profile page on your account, you must find someone who already has it, and activate it for yourself from his or her page.
So far, the reception to this new profile page design by the early adopters on Twitter has not been positive. Many users are suggesting that activating the page was a mistake, and others are urging those who haven't activated it yet to hold out.
"New #facebook profile makes me want to use #twitter even more. .," wrote @tjgillitzer on Twitter.
"The new #facebook profile sucks. If you haven't converted over to it yet, don't. You can't go back to the old. #FB stop mucking up!," wrote @ksmfan on Twitter.
