Philanthropists: Who has been the most memorable?

Facebook co-founders Mark Zuckerberg and Dustin Moskovitz are among a total of 57 billionaires who have vowed to give away at least 50 per cent of their fortune as a part of a philanthropic campaign led by Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, Reuters reports.

Gates and Buffett started this recent effort, named The Giving Pledge, in June. The campaign announced the most recent 17 pledges, including Zuckerberg and Moskovitz, late Wednesday.

As a campaign, The Giving Pledge does not collect money, or tell people how to donate their money, it only suggests that the billionaires donate their fortune to charity, and release a letter specifically outlining their intent.

You can see the full list of billionaires and their letters here.
