News Corp. will formally announce the launch of its iPad-only newspaper, The Daily, next week, according to a report by The Associated Press.
While details have yet to be fully released, the digital publication will include general news stories, a culture and entertainment section, and video. Other information, such as subscription fees, will be confirmed at a later date.
Two anonymous sources say that the announcement at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art next week will include the attendance of Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Inc., and Rupert Murdoch, chief executive of News Corp.
Other organizations, such as The New York Times, have been offering free iPad versions of their newspapers. The Times will move towards requiring a subscription for its app later this year, along with a fee to access multiple news articles online.
