Judging by the mood on Twitter, people can barely contain their anticipation for this year's instalment of the Toronto International Film Festival. Even those who claim not to care about celebrities seem to get a little giddy at this time of year. As for the self-acknowledged TIFFheads -- they just seem to vibrate for 10 days straight.

This year's shindig runs Sept. 9-19, and we at CBC News will be out in force - with an army of staffers and citizen contributors covering the event six ways from Sunday. We'll came at ya with photo galleries, video, interviews, news features and, of course, this here blog.

To kick things off, I'd like to share the five things I'm most looking forward to, in no order.

1. Barney's Version. Loved the book, and am fully prepared to love the movie.

2. Werner Herzog's 3-D film The Cave of Forgotten Dreams.

3. Black Swan. Darren Aronofsky's return to freaky?

4. Finding out whether the Joaquin Phoenix documentary I'm Still Here is a hoax or not.

5. Seeing Marion Cotillard in the flesh, which would probably trump the previous four points.
