Call me a sucker for slow, dreamy Asian films, but I'm looking forward to Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives, this year's Cannes Palme d'Or winner from Thai director Apichatpong Weerasethakul. This is the man whose previous feature, Syndromes and a Century, topped the TIFF Cinematheque poll as the best film of the last decade.

I also can't wait to see Werner Herzog's first foray into 3-D, Cave of Forgotten Dreams, a documentary in which he was given rare access to the prehistoric cave paintings of Chauvet-Pont-d'Arc.

And then there's that other doc (or is it mock?), I'm Still Here -- Casey Affleck's film of Joaquin Phoenix allegedly pursuing a new career as a hip-hop artist. A bored actor's Borat-style hoax? Quite possibly, but he's got us wondering.
