This looks like fun: tomorrow afternoon at the TIFF Filmmakers' Lounge, famed film critic Roger Ebert is taking part in a "Twitter showdown." He'll toss out comments about the film industry and a panel of six film folks will then respond to them on Twitter.

Of course, they'll be limited to 140 characters or less, so pithiness will be at a premium.

The contestants include actor Rainn Wilson (you know him from NBC's The Office), director James Gunn and indieWIRE writer Eric Kohn.

An audience will vote on which participant had the best Tweet per round; they'll be judged on wit and originality.

Of course, this is terra firma for Ebert. The critic has heartily embraced the web; his twitter feed (@ebertchicago) has over 230,000 followers and is essential reading for serious film buffs.

Proceedings start at 4 p.m. tomorrow at 134 Peter St.
