sachin-seth.jpgJon Hamm. All I did was say the name to Kristen Draper (I swear that's her last name) and her knees buckled.

"He's absolutely gorgeous. I've been to 17 of these festivals in Toronto and seeing him was the highlight," she said, yelling to be heard over the crowd of hundreds that gathered at the Roy Thomson Hall to see, among others, the 39-year-old Mad Men star.

People in the crowd were climbing lampposts and jumping on garbage cans and recycling bins just to get a better look at Hamm, Ben Affleck, Rebecca Hall, and Blake Lively - all stars in the Affleck-directed The Town.

Hamm was the last of the four to arrive, and before he even showed up people were chanting his name in unison.

But not everyone was there to see the man everyone knows as Don Draper, the adulterous, uber-cool, extra-suave protagonist of Mad Men.

"Yup, I drove about 250 km to see this premiere. Actually, mainly to see Jennifer Garner," said 22-year-old Kevin Lapelo.

Hamm and Affleck signed plenty of autographs near the front of the massive crowd. Garner however ventured to the end of the line to sign autographs for those who didn't get a good look at Hamm or Affleck.

"They do care you're here," she reminded the crowd, telling them the two were just too busy taking pictures and promoting the film on the red carpet. Makes sense.

No one at the back seemed to care though. Her reassurances were drowned out by people screaming, "I love you Jen!"
