The Liberal tide

Elections Nova Scotia has now released the official poll-by-poll results for all 51 ridings, and the results paint a compelling picture of the extent of the Liberal tide that swept the province.

Six candidates won every single poll in their districts. All but one are Liberals.

Stephen McNeil ( Annapolis), Kelly Regan (Bedford), Ben Jessome (Hammonds Plains-Lucasville), Claude O'Hara (Hants West) and Zach Churchill (Yarmouth) all had a perfect night.

PC Geoff MacLellan (Glace Bay) was the only non-Liberal to win every poll in his riding.

A few others came close, and they are all Liberals.

Andrew Younger (Dartmouth East) didn't lose a poll but he was tied with his NDP challenger in one small poll.

Six other Liberals won all but one poll in their districts: Diana Whalen (Clayton Park West), Karen Casey (Colchester North), Leo Glavine (Kings West), Iain Rankin (Timberlea -Prospect) and Kevin Murphy (Eastern Shore).

That adds up to eleven Liberals who either won every poll, or everyone poll but one on election night.

That's quite a feat.
