3 Napkin Man Tricks to Help Your Anxious Child

You know what feels bad? Anxiety. And if you're a kid and you're still learning how to regulate emotions, it can feel extra scary. Sure, parents and caregivers can step in when kids are having a hard time coping, but helping kids develop their own toolkit for dealing with tough emotions is vital to healthy emotional development.

That's where The Adventures of Napkin Man comes in — it's a show all about kids learning new ways to deal with their own complicated feelings. We recommend watching these episodes and talking with your kids about them, but here are a few tricks from the show kids can use specifically when they're feeling axious.


Situation: They're panicky because they can't find a precious toy/blanket

Trick: Help kids learn to slow down their bodies so they can slow down their minds:

Situation: They're experiencing separation anxiety being away from their loved ones

Trick: Help them learn to distract themselves with something fun until they're reunited with whoever they are missing.
