5 Ways to Celebrate Canada Day

By Megan McChesney

1. Contact Paper Stained Glass Canadian Flag

Kids love sticking things to contact paper, and (don't tell) so do we! This project works on motor skills and is great for all ages.

2. Canada Day Peanut Butter Moose Snack

Is this moose too cute to eat? Not quite. Swap out PB for other nut butters or even Nutella to change things up. Try using watermelon to make the leaves. Our contributor Jill (Meet the Dubiens) always brings the cute to snack time.

3. Canada Day Wreath

Our contributor Gina (East Coast Mommy) came up with this project as a great way for kids to have ownership over a bit of the Canada Day decor. Great for all ages, this project works on fine motor skills and flexes creative muscles, too!

4. Canada Day Scavenger Hunt

Who doesn't love a scavenger hunt? Our contributor Ann (Nearest and Dearest) simply told kids to look for red-and-white things hidden around outside. Look at what they found!

5. Fuse Bead 3-D Deer Head

This one is great for older kids, but little kids can help too. The project will develop fine motor skills and colour recognition. Ironing and a hot glue are involved, so grownups should be hands on for this one.
